The Outreach Program for Soccer (TOPSoccer or TOPS) is a program for children between 4 and 18 with diverse abilities. TOPS aims to foster physical, mental and emotional growth and development of its participants through involvement in youth sports. This specialized program brings another dimension to WYS and the community.
• Registration is FREE
• Each child will receive a TOPSoccer jersey with registration
• TOPSoccer is scheduled each week for 1 hour on Saturdays at Lovell Fields (Pingree School) in Weymouth
• Volunteers work with kids at a 1:1 ratio to support them through each session
• Parents and guardians are welcome to participate or sit back and enjoy watching their child play
• Each session includes a series of soccer related games and scrimmage if fitting for the group
• The program runs for 6 weeks
All Mass Youth Soccer and State COVID playing guidelines will be followed.
This season is for Fall 2021.
Mid way through the spring, as a result of Mass Youth Soccer's revised COVID guidelines our COVID modifications and guidlines were relaxed. We may be requried to re-introduced COVID modifications and guidelines during the season. While not exhaustive, the list below are guidelines that may be re-introduced if required. AGAIN, THE BELOW MAY BE RE-INTRODUCED IF REQUIRED
All players must wear masks both when they are in the game and when they are on the sidelines. This includes coming to the filed, leaving the field.
Only a single spectator per player will be allowed at the field. All spectators/coaches/volunteers will be required to wear a mask while at the field. No spectators will be allowed on the turf or the walking track that surrounds the field.
All spectators will need to remain socially distant and watch from the grass area that surrounds the walking track.
If the season must be stopped or is cancelled after the 2nd week of the season due to adjusted COVID-19 guidelines, no refunds or credits will be provided. Any cancellation before the 3rd week of the season will result in 50% account credit that can be used for future WYS activities.
Your child may be scheduled to play soccer games every other week and have 2 games scheduled for the week they play. These games will be against the same team.
There may not be any coordinated/reserved field (turf) time for practice. IF no turf time is reserved, for all age groups, each coach will need to determine the best time and place to hold practice.
Each team will require an assigned COVID-19 Coordinator. This role is to assist the Coach in ensuring that the team is compliant with Massachusetts Youth Soccer’s Return to Soccer Activity Guidelines during practice sessions and games.
